Tijdens een archeologische veldprospectie in het grensgebied tussen België en Nederland ter hoogte van Thorn (NL) en Kessenich (B) is een stuk Romeinse vloer in een drassig veld gedetecteerd. Romeinse scherven aan de oppervlakte suggereren dat de Romeinse villa dateert uit 150- 250 na Christus.
Een stuk Romeinse mozaïekvloer, uitgevoerd in marmeren tesserae in een nis dat mogelijk onderdeel was van een deel van een klein alcove, onthult een verborgen verhaal dat zou kunnen aangeven dat een beeld van Tim en Alex al bestond rond 175 na Christus. Het is duidelijk zichtbaar hoe de krommen van het mozaïek de contouren van Tim en Alex 'gezichten volgen. De ondervloer met de schildering waar mogelijk Tim en Alex zijn uitgebeeld is waarschijnlijk uitgevoerd in technieken met rode oker en natuurlijke materialen, maar dit blijft voorlopig onduidelijk. Tim zou hieronder links in beeld zijn, Alex rechts. De locatie in een Alcove was veelal gereserveerd voor heilige figuren.

During an archaeological field survey in the border area between Belgium and the Netherlands near Thorn (NL) and Kessenich (B) , a piece of Roman flooring was discovered in a swampy field. Roman shards on the surface suggest that the Roman villa dates from around 150-250 AD.
A piece of Roman mosaic flooring, executed in marble tesserae in a niche, probably of a very tiny alcove, reveals a hidden story that could indicate that a statue of Tim and Alex already existed around 175 AD. It is clearly visible how the curves of the mosaic follow the contours of Tim and Alex' faces. The sub floor with the painting possibly depicting Tim and Alex is probably executed in techniques with red ocher and natural materials, but this remains unclear for the time being. The location in an Alcove was often reserved for sacred figures

MEER MOZAËK / MORE MOSAIC
Op de kunstacademie werk ik aan origineel marmeren mozaïek (ca 1800 jaar oud, marmeren steentjes in grijs en wit) dat ik verwerk in een bestaande tekening en zo het verband aanbreng tussen toen en nu. De verbinding is het creatieve. het speelse element, al zou ik in de Romeinse tijd nooit als mozaïek legger zijn geaccepteerd!
At art academy I work on original marble mosaic (around 1800 years old, marble stones in grey and white) that I process in an existing drawing and thus apply the connection between then and now. The connection is the creative. The playful element, although in Roman times I would never have been accepted as a mosaic layer!

What is boygender?
Boygender is a gender for those who identify with the term "boy," but reject manhood and/or feel disconnect from the term "man." It opposes toxic masculinity and embraces innocence, soft masculinity, non-binary masculinity, and non-binary boyhood. Since I left foster care, almost eighteen years old, I identified myself as a boy (and therefore non-binary). As a boygender you experience a lot of discrimination, contempt and exclusion, but it only makes me proud of who I am. For decades excluded, scorned and even threatened from the LGBTI community is' Boygender toilet Rights +++ a nod to those who identify themselves as transgender.
Wat is boygender?/
Boygender is een gender voor degenen die zich identificeren met de term 'jongen', maar de mannelijkheid verwerpen en/of voelen ontkoppelen van de term 'man'. Het verzet zich tegen giftige mannelijkheid en omvat onschuld, zachte mannelijkheid, niet-binaire mannelijkheid en niet-binaire jongensjaren. Sinds ik uit pleegzorg kwam, bijna achttien jaar oud, identificeerde ik mij als jongen (en dus non- binair). Als boygender ervaar je veel discriminatie, minachting en uitsluiting, maar het maakt mij alleen maar trots te zijn wie ik ben. Decennialang uitgesloten, geminacht en zelfs bedreigd vanuit de LHBTI gemeenschap is 'Boygender Toilet Rights +++ een knipoog naar diegenen die zich als transgender identificeren.
