NOBODY CARES

The early to mid‑1980s are internationally regarded as one of the most violent periods in post‑war Dutch history.

Nobody cares  investigates extreme police violence, sexual violence - for interrogation purposes-,  dehumanizing and use of Antisemitic  language that takes place behind closed (police station-) doors against  LGBT - and other minority groups and is then denied or erased. The work presented below is based on experiences that were never officially recognized, leaving those who experience this violence completely  isolated after traumatic events. This structural denial itself becomes a form of exclusion and leaves a dangerous black spot in the post-war Netherlands. Research shows that the Netherlands does not meet the requirements of the European Court of Human Rights when assessing police brutality.
