Jimmy Groen creates work at the intersection of science, perception, and personal reconstruction. His work — often raw, layered, and technically experimental — is rooted in a life story that cannot be captured in conventional paths.

In addition to traditional watercolor, he uses various multimedia techniques for the representation of diverse subjects. Jimmy Groen is also known for the avant-garde portraits of queer identity in youth.

The drawings in a mix of age and identity of and with  Tim and Alex form a permanent part of his work, as does the work of Jimmy11.

His work has been seen during various exhibitions and events in the Netherlands and Belgium, and until 2025 he is a member of the artists' group of Galleri SoHo in Västerås,  Sweden.
