About Jimmy ENG

As a child all my creativity was oppressed and severely punished. My very controversial childhood in the Dutch youth care system left me with permanent physical and severe psychological injury.  My life turned out to be mixed in ages and different identity parts,  which was explained in  1998 when I received the label dissociative identity disorder. However, I never received  treatment or support for it, so I turned to creativity as a corner pillar in my life: as a way of processing, to portray and as storytelling.

Tim and Alex are two creative little ones who share my identity- or I share theirs. Our  works show how  creativity brought me much joy and fulfillment  in life as  a personal victory over the complete suppression of my creativity in my youth.

The work of Tim and Alex are not children's or adult's drawings, they are made from a mix in ages and identity.
In order to give my work a broader layering and depth, I decided in 2025 to work more in multimedia, and to make the connection between art and  different disciplines such as archaeology and physics. I work on challenging projects both at home in the Netherlands and at the art academy in Tongeren in Belgium  to continue to develop myself.
