Jimmy Groen (based in Slenaken, NL) blends image, emotion, and dimension into art that resonates. As illustrator for Dutch poet Lennart Willems and a author/ journalist under pseudonym, he moves fluidly between visual storytelling and literary depth. 

With his avant- gardist portraits of queer identity in youth, Jimmy is at the forefront internationally.

Much of his art until 2024 serves as a form of visual storytelling, as do the themes surrounding social injustice and extreme forms of institutional violence in the Netherlands.

In his work we also see influences from Jimmy's broad interests from Arabic language and culture to theoretical physics.

Since 2025, Jimmy has focused on multimedia work — merging handcrafted pieces with digital layers, video, audio, and installation to create richly textured experiences.

Jimmy works from his home studio in new challenging  subjects, often based on nature.
