Jimmy Groen 

 

JEUGD
Jimmy Groen (*1962 hij/ hem/  zij-mv.) groeide grotendeels op in extreme omstandigheden  in de Nederlandse pleegzorg.   Jimmy dentificeert  zich trots als (non - binair) boygender  als teken dat ze zijn oorspronkelijk gender tijdens zijn jeugd uiteindelijk niet konden afbreken. Jimmy  presenteert dit  als Kunst zonder achtergrond. 

CREATIEVE PERIODEN
Hij begon op latere leeftijd met schilderen en werkt in olieverf, pastel, glasmozaïek, 3D-objecten en multimedia. Zijn werk richt zich op institutioneel geweld, gender, identiteit en sociaal isolement. Daarnaast maakt hij landschappen, figuratieve voorstellingen en portretten in uiteenlopende media.

ATELIER
Van 2020 tot 2023 was hij lid van atelier Fantastike in Maastricht. Hij exposeerde onder meer in het Bonnefantenmuseum (2022).

WERK IN MIX VAN LEEFTIJDEN
Een deel van zijn werk wordt gemaakt in samenwerking met zijn (DIS) deelidentiteiten Tim en Alex — “de creatieve kleintjes” — waarmee hij een unieke mix van leeftijd, expressie en identiteit creëert. Ander  werk is gemaakt door Jimmy11, met name aquareltekeningen

MEDIA EN PERSPECTIEVEN
Naast beeldend kunstenaar is Jimmy  auteur onder pseudoniem  en  illustrator van de Nederlandse  dichter Lennart Willems.

PUBLIEK

Jimmy Groen is opgenomen in diverse privecollecties in Nederland en België. Zijn werk is getoond op diverse exposities, onder andere in Maastricht ( Lutherse Kerk, Bonnefantenmuseum)  en  in Galerie Anita Fleerackers in Gierle (B).

Jimmy Groen is lid van de kunstenaarsgemeenschap /  aangesloten bij SoHo Galleri in Västerås, Zweden.

YOUTH
Jimmy Groen (*1962 he/ him/ they) grew up largely in extreme conditions in Dutch foster care. Jimmy proudly dentifies himself as (non-binary) boygender as a sign that they couldn't eventually break down his gender of birth during his childhood. Jimmy presents this as Art without background.

CREATIVE PERIODS
He began painting later in life and works with oil paint, pastels, glass mosaic, 3D objects, and multimedia. His work adresses  institutional violence, gender, identity, and social isolation.  In addition, he makes landscapes, figurative representations and portraits in various media.

STUDIO
From 2020 to 2023, he was a member of Atelier Fantastike in Maastricht. He has exhibited at the Bonnefantenmuseum (2022), among other places.

WORK IN A MIX OF AGES
His work is created in collaboration with his shared (DID)  identities Tim and Alex—"the creative little ones"—creating a unique mix of age, expression, and identity. Other work has been made by Jimmy11,  especially  watercolor drawings.

MEDIA AND PERSPECTIVES
Besides being a visual artist, Jimmy is an author under pseudonym  and an illustrator for poet Lennart Willems.

PUBLIC

Jimmy Groen is included in several private collections in the Netherlands and Belgium. His work has been shown in various exhibitions, including in Maastricht (Lutheran Church, Bonnefantenmuseum) and  Gallery Anita Fleerackers in Gierle, Belgium.

Jimmy Groen is a member of the artist community and affiliated with SoHo Galleri in Västerås, Sweden.
