Statement
Born from the cracks of the youth care system, my practice serves as a refusal. I reject the clinical labeling of souls damaged by systemic neglect. My work explores the profound intensity of horizontal bonding: the visceral, almost sacred connection formed between children when maternal warmth is stripped away. For those of us raised in the void of the state, this peer-intimacy became our only blueprint for belonging—a raw, lifelong foundation of touch and survival. I reclaim this non-normative identity as a masterpiece of resilience, built from a childhood I never asked for, yet fiercely inhabited. My work confronts the viewer with a haunting silence: the state has no answer for the lives it attempted to erase.
