Trauma art 1992-1997 Strange Rituals from the past 431 - 488

In 1992 I started my creative journey. Between 1992 and 1998 about 450 works have been produced in oil on wood and pastel.

In 2002, most of the collection has been destroyed. Besides many portraits, the work was based upon "unfinished memories" from early childhood. About two years this work created from 'unfinished memories' has been made in intense and intrusive reliving, right after the tragic death of the toddler James Bulger, murdered by two ten year old boys in February 1993.

The work was accompanied by random memories about the children's home Helper Haven in Groningen (NL), where mainly toddler's and baby's were created in oil paint and in later years in pastel on paper.
